As the strongest alliance of its kind in Europe by far, EEBUS is characterised by a European understanding of cooperation. Each partner has a say in which course EEBUS takes and independently decides to which degree their data and device functions are involved in the cooperation.
Genuine cooperation on an equal footing
EEBUS relies on genuine cooperation among equal partners. This is not about conquering market segments, but about jointly developing a new market in the best interests of every partner. That’s why EEBUS works hand in hand together with even its closest competitors – within a framework fully admissible under antitrust law.
EEBUS is a non-profit association
that gives each of its members
an equal say.
Without interest in profit –
in the best interests of all concerned
EEBUS is supported by a non-profit organisation that does not pursue commercial aims. Based on democratic processes, each of its members takes part in the decision-making process of the organisation, which also enables smaller partners to fully retain their independence in the evolution of their technologies. As a standard, EEBUS is freely available and can be used by every company interested. That also applies to all non-members.
Cooperation with full data sovereignty
Within the framework of EEBUS, each of the companies involved can flexibly and independently decide to which degree they want to share their intellectual property with others. In joint application scenarios, the partners have the freedom to define which data need to be shared as a lowest common denominator, to enable the envisioned applications to be implemented. Everything else remains there exclusively where it belongs – as the property of each manufacturer and service provider. No one from outside will gain an insight into the functions and processes of individual devices – unless the company in question wishes to share the information voluntarily.
EACH COMPANY RETAINS
OVER ITS DATA AND ITS FUNCTIONS.
The European voice in the global IoT
Over 60 leading European companies are already EEBUS members, allowing the association to use its influence to defend European principles in a global context.
However, also within Europe, EEBUS is furthering the harmonisation of the market. Due to its positive cooperation with European authorities, the Federal Government and leading industry associations in the electrical, heating, automotive and appliances sector, the collected results of the common work are directly integrated in a large number of other market and standardisation processes.
