Cologne, 14 September 2026. The first EEBUS Certification has been completed. Power Plus Communications AG (PPC) has successfully passed the procedure with its CLS Adapter Steuerung 2.0 running firmware version 3.0.0. The certification programme was launched in July 2026.
For manufacturers and system integrators, EEBUS Certification provides independent evidence that a product implements the relevant EEBUS specifications within its certified scope. This creates a common basis for integrating components from different manufacturers, helps reduce integration risks and supports the wider use of EEBUS communication for grid-oriented control.
“The first completed EEBUS Certification is an important milestone for our initiative. Over the years, our members have developed a shared language for energy management. Certification now makes it possible, for the first time, to independently verify that this language has been implemented correctly. This gives installers and end customers a reliable basis: those who choose certified devices can be confident that the foundation for interoperability with devices from other manufacturers is in place. In this very practical way, certification supports the digitalisation of the energy transition,” says Dr. Gunnar Steg, Chairman of the Board of the EEBus Initiative e.V.
The certification covers both protocol and application levels. For the CLS Adapter, testing included the Use Cases Limitation of Power Consumption (LPC) and Limitation of Power Production (LPP), the communication protocol SHIP, the data model SPINE and automated commissioning via the SHIP Pairing Service (SPS). The Certificate applies to firmware version 3.0.0. The device is listed in the public EEBUS Certificate directory: https://www.livinglabcologne.com/eebus-certified-devices-en/device/ppc-cls-adapter-steuerung-2-0/
EEBUService GmbH, a subsidiary of the EEBus Initiative e.V., carries out EEBUS Certification and issues the Certificates. Technical testing with the EEBUS Tester takes place at the Living Lab Cologne. EEBUS Certification is open to all manufacturers implementing the standard.

PRESSEMITTEILUNG
Erste EEBUS Zertifizierung für CLS-Adapter von Power Plus Communications
Köln, 14. September 2026.
